Our purpose-built Nursery provides a fun and stimulating environment for three and four-year-olds, helping to build the foundations for a lifelong love of learning. The Nursery has excellent classroom facilities, divided into dedicated zones, with digital technology to enhance learning.
Our extensive outdoor area is surrounded by fields and boasts a range of resources, including a sandpit, climbing equipment, bug hotel and planters to encourage children to engage with nature. We have a canopy area so that children can enjoy playing outside in all weather.
We would love to show you around our nursery. You can book a tour here.

Nursery Hours
We offer 15 and 30-hour funded sessions. Children can attend mornings only, mornings and lunch, or full day. We are open during term-time. Extra sessions are available at a cost.
Morning session: 8.50am-11.50am
Morning and lunch: 8.50am-12.20pm
All day: 8.50am-3.20pm
We offer both funded and paid places in our Nursery. For more information and prices, please see our Nursery Admissions Arrangements.
How to Apply
Applications will be accepted any time during the academic year after a child’s second birthday. Our Nursery operates a single intake system, admitting children the September after they turn three. We will consider taking children later if there are spaces available.
You can apply for a place directly through the school.
Parents / carers should note that attendance at the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the Reception class at Woodside Primary School. You will still need to apply for a Reception place via your local authority.

Starting in Nursery
Starting Nursery is an exciting time for both children and their families, and our team will work closely with you to ensure that your child’s transition is smooth.
- If your child attends a pre-school, we’ll speak to their keyworkers to discuss their needs and interests before they start with us.
- You and your child will be invited to attend stay and play sessions and we will carry out home visits to get to know your family.
- Children start nursery in small groups to help them settle in.
